Never having taken art classes, I accepted an invitation to go to an oil painting class in a nearby High School and got hooked. Soon after completing the class, I joined the Huntington Township Art League in Long Island, NY.

My Teacher, Virginia Peterson, introduced me to drawing on the right side of the brain. I studied watercolor under the well-known artist. Elaine Kane. I became a volunteer, as well as a student at HTAL and made many friends there.

When we moved to NC, I immediately looked for a League to join and found the Mooresville Artist Guild. I have been in the Guild for over 10 years and have served in many capacities throughout that time, having enjoyed the friendship and classes offered.

I attended workshops by Cama Tadlock (acrylics) and Sterling Edwards (watercolor) and found them to be inspirational. It was from Cama Tadlock’s class in acrylics that I produced a piece called “Images” and won first place in acrylics at Mooresville Arts.
